Today's 12 mile walk started in the pouring rain. I had to wonder if my mom and I were crazy when we began on Alpine Road in Portola Valley. We went up to Sand Hill Road and then to Portola Road and back to Alpine. We stopped in at the Library to use the restrooms. As we removed wet layers we realized there was no way were were going to put our soaking t-shirts back on--so we put on our fleece vests instead. As we stretched outside the sun came out so the rest of the walk was in the wonderful sun. Later this afternoon we treated ourselves to a soak in the hot tub to work out our tired and cold muscles.
